About Me / Pri Mi

Hello! Saluton! I am a capybara!

Well no, not really, but my nickname for years has been “Capy” because of my irrational love for capybaras. This site is my own little personal corner of the internet world. Kapibaro is the Esperanto word for “capybara” – because I am a student of the language (and also, because capybara.com was already taken) I decided that this would be a good place to post whatever I like while at the same time learning Esperanto better. And maybe another site with Esperanto will help give this worthwhile language a little more exposure in the world.

You’re going to have a lot of Esperanto shoved down your throat. I’m just warning you.

I mean it.

Aside from Esperanto posts and resources, you’ll find musings, articles, videos, music, or whatever else I feel like sharing or creating.

Anyways, I live just north of Detroit, Michigan, US. I’ve spent the majority of my nearly 50 years living in various parts of our beautiful state, from Warren to Auburn Hills to Southfield to Chesterfield and elsewhere. Most of my interests revolve around language, history, photography, vintage Radio Shack / Tandy computer restoration, playing various musical instruments (usually poorly), and a whole host of other geeky, nerdy stuff. I’m currently back in school to become a psychologist, which is an absolutely fascinating pursuit.

I’m a proud member of: The Democratic Socialists of America, The Satanic Temple, Esperanto USA, and The Universal Esperanto Association. I’m also one of the founding members of Esperanto Michigan. I also run a small photography business, CapyPics, where I provide trade-for-print services for people and low cost photography for businesses.

My favorite color is orange.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope to provide an interesting experience for you!

A QUICK NOTE

There will be a lot of political content. I’m nearly 50 and have very few filters left, and so unabashedly speak out against the atrocities that our US government are committing at home and abroad. I will speak out against our gaudy would-be dictator and his administration in extremely unkind terms. I will also be sharing political memes, whether found elsewhere or created by myself. If political content offends you, or if you are not part of the political left, you may not enjoy your time here.

PS: My capybara logo is green because green is the color of the Esperanto flag. I warned you. There will be Esperanto all over the place here.
