I’ve finally had it.
I’ve loved mac since I first bought one nearly 6 years ago. And, for all its issues and quirks, I really loved Safari. But today I’ve had it.
I’m on macOS Developer Beta, and I’m used to things being … well … weird when I’m going about my daily stuff. But ever since I installed macOS 26 (non-beta, mind you) I’ve had non-stop issues with Safari crashing. Constantly. I’ve figured out ways to get it to stop, for the most part. And when I started with Public Beta, something magical and wondrous would happen: every time I got an update I would have the same crashing issue with Safari. Open. Crash. Report. Open. Crash. Report.
I’ve sent the automated reports to Apple. I’ve sent feedback reports. No response, ever.
Today, after the latest update was installed, the bullshit started again. And this time I was absolutely done. In the feedback report to Apple, I told them as much (as if they care about this one person having problems). There are no technical documents anywhere on the internet about this issue, no solutions. So I switched back to Firefox.
I’m highly disappointed with Apple on this. I love their ecosystem! I have iPhones, AirPods, Macbooks, etc. But for Woz’s sake, why cannot they get this one thing fixed? Safari has always lagged behind when it comes to internet performance, but this issue was just too much.
Don’t worry, Apple, if you’re reading this: I’m not switching to – god forbid – Google. Just switching my browser 🤣
